You will be in a simulated commercial bakery training centre located in Sydenham, Christchurch, learning:

• How to follow recipes and change ingredients when needed
• Creating from scratch and pre-mixes
• Working with industrial-grade machinery
• How to bake bread, cake, and biscuits
• How to prepare items for sale, including icing items or decorating cakes

Ara is offering free programmes where you can explore your cultural identity and be supported to join the next generation of Pacific trades leaders.
A support team will mentor and guide you throughout your training. 

When you complete, you will undertake a 3–4-year apprenticeship where you’ll earn while you learn. Then, you can continue to work or train further to develop advanced skills.
